Spring Bunny Wreath

Good Sunday morning.  I have a colorful Spring Bunny Wreath project to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Rabbit Set, Pine Sprig Cluster, Fir Sprig Set, Leaves and Stems,Tiny Flowers and Border Duo 1. I made several Christmas wreath cards with this same layout over the holidays and thought the crimped yellow layer would be perfect to highlight the wreath while still allowing quite a bit of white background.  Have I told you lately how much I love the new Bazzill Card Shoppe paper line over at Ellen’s?  I have not been able to stop using this color combination over the last few weeks.  They are so perfect for spring.

I began by creating a circle for the wreath base using two Spellbinder dies.  I used the fir sprigs to create a base of foliage for the wreath.  I alternated left then right and repeated all the way around. I attached the foliage to the circle using glossy accents.

I filled in the wreath with the more delicate pine sprigs and mainly filling in the center. I wanted the softer looking sprigs to stand out a little.

I cut and formed several tiny flowers and attached them to the stems.  I randomly placed the color of flowers on the stems so when I tucked them around the wreath they would be well mixed.

OK….so don’t kill me.  I forgot to take pictures of how I attached the rabbits and inserted the flower stems.

I attached the bunnies with mounting tape and then tucked all the stems around the wreath and attached with glossy accents.  Here’s a closer view of the wreath.

I cut the decorative border, crimped and then attached to the card base with ATG adhesive. I attached the wreath to the card base with glossy accents and added some ribbon tails for the finishing touch.

  2. You did a great job on this one. Those bunnies work for so many things. I really like the combo of the edge that is both crimped and die cut-gives great dimension. As usual your colors are spot on. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Your bunny wreath is so sweet and all ready for spring! I love the shading on the little bunnies. The little yellow ribbon tails and the corrugated panel are all great ideas.
I love your beautiful work and have tried some of your techniques which really help give a project so much dimension but I just can’t seem to get my wreaths to come out from the page like this. I keep trying though! Someday… lol
Thank you so much for your great tutorials and awesome inspiration! 🙂

  6. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!! Wow!!!! Thank you for the detail steps for assembling the wreath and why you chose to layer it with the different branches, I can see the process in my mind. The brown bunnies are perfect in the middle of the flowery wreath bower. Maybe if you do another similar wreath project you can show how to put the stems and bunnies. The yellow crimped border is the perfect background accent. I really like the ribbon tails are just the right touch of ribbon, rather than a bow. Thank you for this amazing visual inspiration today.

  7. This is so precious and so creative Kittie! I took some bunny pictures yesterday. We were out riding around in our golf cart and spotted a bunny. It looked like a scene from Mr. McGregror’s garden, I had to snap a few pics.

  9. I am envisioning your work table. Little open boxes/containers filled with each item: fir sprigs, tiny flowers in all colors, leaves and stamps, small alders, bunnies, birds, clouds, suns, moons, trellises–a veritable wonderland of wonderful things to use in your scenes. TFS!
