Paper Layering Hummingbird and Lawn Fawn Sale
Impression Obsession “Fun with Flowers” Challenge

Leafy Tree Birdhouse and Lawn Fawn Sale

Good Wednesday morning.  I  have so much fun creating little scenes on my card fronts.  For my project today I used the Lawn Fawn Leafy Tree Backdrop and cut it down a little to fit inside a frame made using Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables and layered over a gingham background using the Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.  I used the My Favorite Things Birdhouses set and the Impression Obsession Cardinals, Tiny Flowers, Small Grass Border and Foliage set to complete the scene.

I cut a gingham scalloped layer and another scalloped layer using white cardstock.  I applied double stick tape to the back of the gingham and attached it to the white layer.  I wanted to pop the gingham layer up on the card base with strips of mounting tape and knew the gingham paper was too thin used alone. I cut the tree using Kraft cardstock, lightly misted it with water and then applied Vintage Photo ink by swiping the ink pad directly over the paper. I cut the fancy scalloped layer and used a Nesting Rectangle die to cut the frame opening.  I trimmed the tree frame off to fit inside the frame and attached it to the back of the frame using double stick tape. I attached the grass border to the back of the frame using double stick tape, then applied thin strips of mounting tape on all four side of the frame and attached it to the gingham layer.

I attached the leaves to the tree limbs and the foliage sections around the grass border with glossy accents. The tiny flowers were formed using my stylus and molding pad and attached to the leaves and foliage using glossy accents. The birdhouse was assembled using tan woodgrain and red cardstock.  The birdhouse post was hand cut with deckle scissors and attached to the card base with double stick tape. The birdhouse was attached over the post using tiny pieces of mounting tape.  The cardinals were attached in the scene with tiny pieces of cardstock.
