Framed Fall Leaves

Good Monday morning.  I have a fall card to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Leaves Set. and branches made using the Wide Tree.   I colored the leaves using distress inks and mini applicators.

I cut the leaves using white cardstock.  I applied the different colors of ink in patches using the mini applicators.

Once the leaf was totally covered with ink I went over the whole leaf using wild honey ink to smooth and blend out the edges of each color.

I applied versa to each leaf, applied clear embossing powder and heated.

I formed the leaves using my stylus and molding pad. I attached the two larger leaves to the center to the card base with glossy accents.  I cut the branches apart and tucked them in under the larger leaves and attached with glossy accents. I filled in around the branches with the three smaller leaves and attached with glossy accents.

Originally I only had the orange and vanilla base layers but once I added the leaves it still looked too plain.  I cut the thin frame and attached it with rolled up double stick tape. Both the orange base and frame were embossed with clear embossing powder to match the shine on the leaves.

Anchors Away Sailing

Good Sunday morning.  My project this morning is another that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Beach House Inspiration Challenge.  When I saw this Anchor Pillow I remembered some Papertrey Nautical paper that I have had forever and hadn’t used in a while.  Here’s what I came up using the Impression Obsession Sailboats, Ocean Border and Mini Nautical Set. The frame was made using the Nesting Squares.

I cut the frame and attached the front ocean board section with double stick tape.  I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame, attached the second ocean border and then attached to the card base.  I love the two coordinating paper patterns.

I tucked the lighthouse and sailboats in behind the ocean border sections and attached with mounting tape.  The wheel, anchor, life preserver and rope were attached with glue dots. This was such a fast and easy card and would be perfect for anyone fond of sailing and boats.

Shore Birds

Good Saturday morning.  I’m sorry to have been away for several days.  I’ve had a hard work week along with needing to work on some special project commitments.  I really enjoyed making this project today for the Splitcoaststampers Beach Themed  Inspiration Challenge.  You can check out the Pinterest Inspiration Site here. My card was inspired by the carved bird art piece found here and was made using the Impression Obsession Shore Birds, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2 and Small Grass.  I got a little carried away with the Liquid Applique so my ocean is quite frothy but I still like the way it came out.

I started by lightly sponging in the sane, water and sky using a stylus and foam tip.  The sky was made using my retired Stampin’ Up! cloud template.  I applied Liquid Applique on the water and tapped lightly with my finger to spread it out and then heated with my heat gun. I applied a light coating of glossy accents on the water and sprinkled with glitter to add a touch of sparkle, dusted it off lightly and then set aside to dry. I cut the frame and applied thin strips of mounting tape and attached to the scene layer.  I applied ATG adhesive to the back and attached to the card base.

The birds were all cut using white cardstock and colored with markers and mini applicators. I cut a couple sections of grass and tucked in behind the frame and attached with glossy accents.  The birds were popped up in the scene with mounting tape.

Falling Leaves

Good Monday morning.  Fall is not in the air here in Florida and it is hot, hot hot!  But I couldn’t resist pulling out some of my fall dies to make a simple white framed falling leaves scene.

I cut the tree using kraft cardstock, applied brown ink and attached it along with the grass to the back of the white frame.  The frame was attached to the card base with mounting tape.  The rake was colored with markers and then I applied versa and embossed with clear embossing powder to add a little shine.

I applied green, orange, rust and red ink to a small piece of cardstock using mini applicators, mixing the inks to create variegated colors for the leaves.  I applied versa and embossed the whole piece of cardstock with clear embossing powder and heated.  I cut out a couple sections of leaves, formed then lightly with my stylus and molding pad and attached to the tree branches and ground area.  I attached the rake with glue dots and attached a few leaves around the base of the rake.  I liked having them popped out on the white frame.
