Belleek Inspired Color Washed Floral Spray

Good Tuesday morning.  The Belleek Inspired technique is one of my favorites and I especially like pairing it with Color Washed flowers. My project today was made using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Bunch of Flowers 2, Curvy Leaves, Sizzix Starry Night embossing folder and Spellbinders Classic Ovals.

I applied spun sugar distress ink on the inside of the embossing folder with my brayer, placed the cardstock in the folder and ran through the Big Shot.  I painted the flowers sections, formed them with my stylus and molding pad and assembled them with glossy accents. I scored the leaves using my leaf tool and leaf pad. and lightly bent them in with my fingers.

I attached the double matted frame  to the card bas with mounting tape.  I arranged the larger pieces of foliage on the card base and attached with glossy accents.  I attached the flowers to the foliage with small pieces of mounting tape and a little additional glossy accents.  I added a few small pieces of foliage to the arrangement to fill in.  I added champagne pearls  to the flower centers for the finishing touch.

It's Time for Spring Flowers

Good Monday morning.  I made this wheelbarrow full of spring flowers to encourage all of you folks that live in icy cold weather.  It was lots of fun to play with pastel colors and to step away from all the bright red and green I have been using for holiday cards. All the dies are made by Impression Obsession.  I used the Wheelbarrow, Tiny Flowers, Leafy Branch, Butterfly Set, Tulip Set and Small Grass Border.

I cut the wheelbarrow using gray cardstock but added lots of rust with a mini applicator and rusty hinge ink.  I think I got a little carried away with the rust.  LOL!  The flowers were cut and formed with my tiny tipped stylus and molding pad.  I cut several sections of the leafy branch, cut the sections apart  and attached the flowers with glossy accents.  I applied a piece of 1/4” double stick tape to the back of the wheelbarrow and used it to attach the flower stems.

I attached the grass to the card base with rolled up 1/2” double stick tape and tucked the wheelbarrow in behind and attached with mounting tape.  I attached the tulips along the grass border and added the butterflies for the finishing touch.

Challenging Tiffany Blue and Chartreuse

Good Sunday morning.  Today is my last day of vacation and I must return to work tomorrow.  I kept telling my husband that I really need to retire so I can stay home all the time but he said our mortgage company wouldn’t like it much.  LOL!  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge and was a real challenge for me.  Our inspiration site was The Perfect Palette and for some reason I decided to use the tiffany blue, chartreuse and white color combination.  The further I got into my project the more I wanted to stop and start something else.  But in the end I decided it would build a little creative character to keep going. My flowers and leaves were made with the new Creative Expressions Camellia Complete set and the frames were made using the Calozonia Frame and the Mansfield Frame  Here’s what I came up with.

I cut the frames and applied mounting tape to the back of the larger frame and rolled up 1/2” double stick tape to the back of the smaller one and I attached them to the card base.

I can’t believe what a difference it makes using rolled up double stick tape instead of mounting tape to attach thin die cuts like the small frame. The pictures below were taken from another post that showed using 1/8” tape but it’s the same technique with any width.

Attach the tape to a hard surface.

8

Roll up with your fingers to create a long thin string of adhesive.

I cut three set of flowers and leaves, molded them with my stylus and molding pad and bent the petals of the flowers around lightly with my needle nose pliers.  I attached the three layers of flowers together with glossy accents to form each flower and attached the leaves with glossy accents.

I attached the card base inside the small frame with small pieces of mounting tape so they would stand evenly with the frame.  I applied large pearls to the frame and tiny pearls in the flower centers for the finishing touch.

Here’s a closer view.  For some reason the background looks lavender in the photo.  These colors were very hard to photograph for some reason.

Hollyhocks Thank You

Good Saturday morning.  I have another flower project to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Full Bloom Hollyhocks and Spring Medley stamps and the HollyhocksPicket Fence and Tall Grass dies. I love the pop of reds against the all white background.

I colored the stamp using distress markers, misted lightly with my mini mister and stamped on the card base.  I added color to the stamped flowers by applying touches of reinkers with my waterbrush.  I cut the flowers using a bright pink cardstock and then added color using a mini applicator and then lightly washed with my brush.  I stamped the sentiment using black versafine

I formed the flower petals with my stylus and molding pad and then attached to the card base along with a few grass sprigs with glossy accents.   I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the fence and attached to the card base. I applied two cross fence sections to the fence with 1/8” double stick tape to add another element of dimension.
