Framed Easter Bunnies

Good Saturday morning.  I have a sweet and soft colored Easter bunny card to share with you today.  I just got the Memory Box Massa Leaf Frame in the mail yesterday and couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.  I paired it with the Impression Obsession Rabbit set, Tiny Flowers, Leaves and Stems, Small Grass Border and Grass Border. I knew that square frame opening would be the perfect place to create a small scene.  What could be any cuter than bunnies sitting among the grass and flowers with Easter eggs tucked in around them.

I cut the leaf frame and formed the leaves with my stylus and molding pad.  I cut a piece of blue cardstock to place in the background of the scene and attached it to the card front with ATG adhesive.  I attached the grass borders on the blue layer, cutting just to fit inside the square frame opening.  I attached the leaf frame over the blue and grass layers with small strips of mounting tape.  I used Spellbinders square dies to cut the aqua frame to layer over the opening and attached with tiny strips of mounting tape.

I tucked the bunnies in behind the grass and attached with small pieces of mounting tape.  I arranged the tiny flower stems in behind the bunnies and attached with glossy accents.  The colored eggs were cut with a 1/4” circle punch and tucked down in the grass in front of the bunnies and attached with glossy accents. Here’s a closer view.

I attached the tiny flowers to the leaves to add another touch of color against the all white background.  I think this is so precious.

  2. This scene is so adorable! This morning around dawn I took Baxter out for his morning “break” and he spotted a rabbit nibbling in the hedges. Being a Dachshund and bred for hunting, he was in heaven. Thank goodness the rabbit escaped . . . LOL! Baxter had a good morning run and lots of exercise and fun.

  4. Joannie, You can definitely use these dies with your Cuttlebug. I used them with mine for years until I broke it. You can use any die in your Cuttlebug that is referred to as a thin die. 90% of the projects I make are made with thin dies. Please feel free to write anytime you have a question. I am always happy to help.

  6. Kittie, this beautiful card is amazing. WoW!!!!! I didn’t know about the frame die, now it is going on my list. This card makes me think of the Easter eggs with the scenes inside. The tiny flowers work beautifully with the leaf frame. I love the colours you have used. Thank you for sharing this amazingly, creatively inspiring card. There are so many possibilities with the frame die.

  8. Another question – how is it that the hole in the middle of the tiny flowers is not noticeable? Also, did you do any inking/shading on the flowers? Lastly, I see you are using lots and lots of Bazzill paper – does it make a big difference with the end product? Again, just marvelous work and thanks for helping us all join you in the journey.

  9. Susan, although the picture of the tiny flower dies shows the hole, the hole does not cut on the flowers. The holes are on the die so that you can poke the floers out from the back. I sometimes do shading with ink or PanPastel on flowers but I didn’t on this project.
I have fallen in love with the new line of Bazzill cardstock. The colors are so bright and fun to work with. The cardstock is an excellent heavy weight and perfect for the kind of paper designs I create. I highly recommend it. I hope they come out with more new colors.
