Good Sunday morning. I have a clean and simple project to share with you today using the new Impression Obsession Large Bird on Branch die paired with the Sizzix Fancy Label and Flowers. The bird and branch are so graceful and delicate and I thought the card needed to be all about them. I wanted the pretty colors to be against all white but did want some dimension so I layered them over the popped up label. It adds interest without taking away from the focal point.
I cut the bird and branch twice using white cardstock. I colored the branches and leaves with Copic markers. They looked a little dead to me so I added some depth by stippling brown and green distress ink on the with a stiff paint brush.
I applied distress ink on the bird using Sofft mini applicators. I started with the wild honey on the bird’s chest and then added antique linen to the rest of the bird. I lightly blended vintage photo with the applicator and then used a dry brush wiped directly across the ink pad to add some texture to the darker brown area.
I attached the label to the card base with mounting tape to add dimension. I attached the branch with glossy accents and rolled glue dots. The bird was popped up with a double layer of mounting tape. I love how crisp the images look against the all white.

The distress ink colours you have used are my favourite go to colours. The sun is shining today and it actually feels spring like, there is hope, spring will come.
