Gold Christmas Wreath

Good Saturday morning.  I have a clean and simple wreath card to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Pine Sprig Cluster set.  I have a funny secret to share with you.  I love how delicate the pine sprigs are so much that I ordered three additional die sets so I can cut out four sets at  a time for when I need multiple pieces for projects like this wreath. Secret telling smile

I punched out a 1 3/4” circle, cut in to the center, cut out the center to create my wreath ring and attached the ends together with glossy accents.

I attached the pine sprigs around the ring, alternating them by attaching the center sprig, then the left and then right all the way around. Alternating the sprigs helps create a balanced and pretty wreath.

I cut two strips of foil for the ribbon streamers and hand cut the ends with my snips.  I attached them to the back of the wreath with glue dots.

I cut and scored the background layer, attached strips of gold foil on each side and attached it on the card base with mounting tape.

I finished by attaching the wreath to the card base with glossy accents.  Although my favorite Christmas colors are red and green I really love how festive and pretty this turned out.

Frostyville Frame and Deer Trio

Good Friday morning.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge to make a project with snow.  I instantly thought of my Frostyville Frame and creating some kind of scene to frame with it. I paired it with the Impression Obsession Deer Trio and a few sprigs of the Pine Sprig Cluster.

The most time consuming thing about making this card was applying tint pieces of mounting tape to the back of the frame to pop it up.  After that it was a piece of cake. I cut a Debutante Frame and cut two sections of snow from it using my deckle scissors and crimped with my wave crimper.  This allowed me to have the layers fit perfectly behind the frame .

I tucked the deer into the scene and attached them with mounting tape.  I love the all white against the polka dot paper.  It looks like snow to me.

Thankful Holiday

Happy Thanksgiving! It really does feel like Thanksgiving here in Florida as our temps dropped down into the 40s last night and is in the low 60s today.  It has been so unusually warm that I was beginning to wonder if it would ever feel like fall. My husband had to work today so we had our Thanksgiving celebration together yesterday evening.  We had all of our holiday favorites and enjoyed a wonderful time together.  My list of things to be thankful for would be too long to list but I am especially thankful for getting to know so many of you and being a part of  the paper crafting community. Oh….and for having four straight days off work. Smile

Before I start my post let me just say a big  Woo-Hoo about the specials sales going on at my two favorite stores- Impression Obsession and Ellen Hutson. I’m trying to control myself from going on over and pulling out my credit card and screaming “CHARGE”! Open-mouthed smile  Impression Obsession sale has already begun and you can get the details here.  Ellen’s sale will begin tonight at midnight and you can  click here for details.

I have a fun Christmas scene tag to share with you today using the Memory Box Village House and Impression Obsession Tree die, Fir Trees and a couple birds form the Leafy Wreath

I had made a tag a couple days ago using this sweet Snow Village designer paper and thought I would use it again since it was out on my work table. I thought it would be so cute with the tall house and bare snowy tree.

After assembling the house I painted the roof top and window panes using a tiny brush and straight undiluted  white watercolor paint to create snow. I purposefully made the house a darker brick red so the snow would show up well.  I painted the tree limbs and branches as well as the two crimped fir trees.  I wanted everything to have that cold winter feel.  I applied glossy accents and diamond glitter to the snowy areas but you can’t see the sparkle in the photos.

I couldn’t resist adding touches of evergreen and red decorations to the windows and doors.  I used the fir sprig set for the evergreen decorations by cutting individual little pieces and attaching them with glossy accents.  I used 1/8” punched circles for the red decoration, attached them glossy accents and covered them with red stickles.  I added the multi loop bow and the two birds for the final finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by.  I wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving and a blessed holiday season.

White on White with Pops of Color

Good Tuesday morning.  I have been having lots of fun this holiday season making mostly all white card with small pops of color. It intrigues me how just a few little pieces of color can make such a bold statement against a white background. My project was made using the Impression Obsession Birch Trees and Pine Sprig Cluster.

I cut the trees, sponged a little pumice stone ink around the notches with a mini applicator and mounted them to the card base with rolled up glue dots.  I cut two strips of cardstock with my deckle scissors, crimped with my wave crimper and attached them to the base of the card.

I cut a few sprigs of the pine and tucked them in behind the snow layers and attached with glossy accents. I cut the birds in the set in red, made a few markings on them with a black soot distress marker and popped them up in the scene with rolled up glue dots. My favorite bird is the one down on ground level.  I don’t know why.

Over The House Tops

Good Monday morning.  I have a fun tag to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Santa and Fir Trees paired with a precious village scene from the Pink Paislee Snow Village pad and using the Inkssentials Tag for the base.

KC Impression Obsession Santa 4 center

The tag is about 1/4” wider than the designer paper so I cut a small section, matched up the houses and attached together to make it long enough to cover the tag.  You can see it if you look closely on the left side.

1

I cut a strip of white cardstock with my deckle scissors, crimped with my wave crimper and attached it to the tag with mounting tape.

2

I cut  several fir trees and crimped with my straight crimper to add dimension.

3

I applied small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the trees and tucked them in behind the snow layer.

4

I cut the Santa and reindeer and applied color using distress inks and a Sofft mini applicator. I also used a fired brick and a peeled paint marker to apply a darker shade of green and red to the sleigh and Santa. It is hard to see in the photos but I applied versa to the sleigh runners and reins with a versa marker and embossed with gold embossing powder.

5

I attached small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the sleigh and the first two sets of reindeer and attached them to the tag.  I allowed the front set of reindeer to be free and pop off the edge of the tag so they would appear to be going up, up and away.  Smile

I love the sweet village paper and thought it would be a perfect background for Santa.  I think this is so fun.
