Spring Window and Daisies

Good Tuesday morning.  I have a clean and simple see thru window project to share with you today.   I made a few of these open Christmas window cards this past holiday season and arranged them with holly, pine and poinsettias loaded with sugary glitter.  I thought it would be pretty to make a spring design with a simple floral spray with vines and daisies. You can click on my Window Card catagory to see all of my more recent window projects.

My daises today are made using the Impression Obsession Spiral Daisy and Spiral Flowers.  I cut the flowers and sponged on a little yellow ink around the inner petals.  I turned the flowers over on my molding pad and used a tiny stylus to push in and turn the tips of each petal back.  I formed the flowers by rolling around tweezers and gluing the base in place.  I punched out several 1/8” circles and formed them with my tiny tipped stylus to create the seed pods.  I filled in the center opening of the rolled flower by attaching a 1/4” circle with a glue dot.  I applied glossy accents  over top of it and placed the seed pods by picking them up with my paper piercer point.

I cut three pieces of the leafy branch 2 , lightly formed with my large stylus and arranged them around the window to create the vines. I attached the flowers and then added sprigs of the branch punch to soften the floral spray.  Here are a couple closer views.

Now here is my dilemma and I could surely use your help.  I made this for a friend who is retiring and my sentiment will go on the back of the card. I struggled with leaving the inside of the card yellow or inserting white or possibly a soft designer paper.  What do you think would look best?

  1. This is such a lovely window card that easily catches attention, Kittie. The flowers with its nicely-placed seed pods come alive on the yellow background. Beautiful!!! For me a soft designer paper (preferrably light yellow and white) would be great on the back of the card. I’m not sure how it will turn out, but your choice I’m sure would be nice.

  2. I agree, a soft design paper..giving it a wallpaper look as you look through your window! GORGEOUS card. Love how you made the centers…an idea to be cased!!!

  3. I think a soft yellow designer paper in the same tone would look nice…it would look like wallpaper, otherwise it’s pretty perfect the way it is.

  4. This card is really beautiful. I think I would go with white on the inside with maybe a light stamped flower or so…i think the subtle softness of bringing the front of the card to the inside would look great.

  5. Such a delightful card! Thank you for sharing. Have you thought of the packaging tape and glitter? It would give your card sparkle like the dew on an early morning. It’s just perfect the way it is, though, as all your cards are!

  6. Beautiful card and I’ve said it before…I love yellow. Maybe for the inside cut a piece of designer paper with a tiny pattern to look like wallpaper. You could lay it in there and look at it before adhereing it. White on the inside might take away from the white window frame. I’ve made a few of these and used furniture stamps like chairs, tables w/lamps even chandaliers to look like a living room…there are dies for some of these stamps as I’m sure you know. Great card today…whatever you decide will be beautiful.

  7. Good morning, Kittie! I’m in the minority, here, but I would leave the inside of the card as-is. The white window just pops against the yellow; I think any pattern would detract from the beautiful flowers. It is is just gorgeous!

  8. The card is beautiful! (as always!) I love the look of the yellow behind the window. What if you backed the front of the card with the yellow paper? Maybe even use thin foam dots to pop it away from the window itself. It might still look dimensional that way. Then you could just write you sentiment on the inside and not worry about anything showing to the front. Whatever you do it will be beautiful.

  9. Good Morning, Kittie. what a gorgeous window and love those daises. those little ones are difficult to do and you did very well with them all. I love the cut window… Now, if you plan to write a message this is what I would do… First, cut a double sided print paper and put on the inside to see from the front of the window. print side with either stamp for living room or wall paper, or table . the other side of that piece white(or print as well) depends then on if you want to write on that side as well as the inside.Or the other possibility would be to leave as is, and enclose an extra piece of card stock that you would write you message and can be removed by the recipient and the card could stand alone for display with open window. The inside for message if left separate but put inside could be of extra special paper, and even with fancy edges. this way they both could be kept in their scrap book. Just a few suggestions. hope this helps…..hugs and have a good day.

  10. You are simply amazing! All of your cards are just absolutely stunning! You always seem to bring them to life and we are very lucky that we get to pick into your world! I think a soft designer paper would be beautiful as if looking into a living room perhaps? Thank you so very much for all of your wonderful tutorials and exquisite cards.

  11. Gorgeous! What a happy card. I like a designer paper, maybe one with clouds. The window dies are always fun because you can be on the outside looking in, or on the inside looking out. Pretty!!

  12. Such a beautiul card Kittie. I agree with some others, try a piece of soft yellow patterned paper and see how it looks. But it’s absolutely fine as it is, so I don’t think you can go wrong (unless you do what I’m likely to do and put it in upside down!). Thanks for sharing with us, what a talented lady you are.
