I wake up each morning and start my day with a cup of coffee and your post. Always in awe and always close with lots of inspiration. I have done a LOT of CASING of your cards (of course I always give credit and a link...haha) You have also cost me a lot of money...had to buy many of those dies...haha I think you do an excellent job on describing how you create your cards so I don't really have a card lately that you have done that I need a tutorial. Gosh though, would love the chance to win your blog candy.

My project today was made using Impression Obsession Spring Medley, Flourish, Mini Rectangle Tags 2, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Folder and Spellbinder Classic Rectangles

I created the double rectangle frame layers with rectangle dies and mounted them with mounting tape over the doted embossed card base. I like how the frames add color and interest over the white but allows the floral bouquet to be the main focus.

I stamped the flower image twice on watercolor paper, laid the matching die over top of the flower image, secured in place with blue painter’s tape and ran through my Big Shot. The die match up perfectly with the image. I watercolored the image with water mixed with reinker and a brush.  I colored the flower portion of the second image and cut three of them out, formed lightly with my stylus and attached over the main image to add dimension.

I cut two of the flourish images to create a soft and whimsical background for the bouquet.  I cut one of the flourishes apart and attached the swirls in a way that would show all around the flowers. I finished with a multi loop bow and the scalloped sentiment tag.

Fancy Butterfly

Good Wednesday.  My project today was made using the new Impression Obsession Fancy Butterfly, Butterfly Set, Leafy Branch 2 and Shaker Circle Frames. I just got this bright pink polka dot paper from Papertrey and thought it would be the perfect background for all white framed butterfly project.

I cut the frames and mounted them on the case base with mounting tape.

I arranged the foliage on the frame and attached with glossy accents. I arranged the large fancy butterfly over the stems and and attached with a double layer of mounting tape. I placed a few small butterflies around the scene to soften and add another element of dimension and interest. They were attached with glossy accents.  This card was really fast and easy and looks lots more time consuming than it was.  I think the all white images would make a statement on any colorful background.

Easter Basket And Roses

Good Tuesday morning. Do you loved playing with rolled flowers?  I sure do!  I had lots of fun using the new Impression Obsession Spiral Flowers to create the tiny rolled roses for my basket project.  Easter baskets don’t always have to be filled with eggs and candy.  Smile

I started by stamping the basket on white cardstock using vintage photo distress ink. I placed the basket die over the image, secured with a couple pieces of painter’s tape and cut out. The stamped basket lines and the embossed lines from the die matched up perfectly.  I wanted to create an old-fashioned basket so I painted it with a brush and  vintage photo reinker mixed with water. I let the basket dry while I created a double matted frame and mounted it to the white card base. KC Impression Obsession Spiral Flower Set 1 right

I cut several pieces of the leafy branch and several of the spiral flowers in different colors.  I designed the foliage in the basket and attached to the back side with glossy accents. I rolled  the flowers using my needle nose pliers and attached in the foliage in the foliage with glossy accents.  I finished punching out several 1/8” circles, forming them with my fine point stylus and attaching around the arrangement for an additional touch of color.

I attached a multi loop bow and then tucked the basket into the frame opening and attached with mounting tape. I attached the sentiment on the card base with mounting tape and applied tiny pieces of foliage and buds for a finishing touch.KC Impression Obsession Spiral Flower Set 1 leftr

Bunny and Spring Showers

Good Monday morning.  I can’t seem to stop myself from making spring scenes.  I couldn’t resist pairing one of the bunnies from the new Bunny Set  with the new Umbrella. They are perfectly sized for each other.  Even the Easter bunny gets caught in the rain sometimes.

KC Impression Obsession Umbrella 1 right

I started by creating a double matted frame and attaching one of the grass borders directly to the back of it. I attached a second grass border directly on the base of the card. I attached mounting tape around the frame and then mounted it to the card base. The slight separation between the two grass borders adds a little extra bit of dimension. I inserted the clouds and then the leafy branch with tiny flowers.

I attached the bunny to the card base with mounting tape to pop it up. I attached the umbrella with double pieces of mounting tape in the center to hold it out and glue dots on the sides to hold flat to the base. I finished by adding a few flowers to the grass border and a few dots of glossy accents around the scene to look like raindrops. They don’t show up to well in the photos but they add a cute touch to the scene in person.

Framed Hydrangea

Good Sunday morning.  I have a framed hydrangea project to share with you today using both the Impression Obsession Hydrangea Stamps Set and Hydrangea Die Set. I think the images stamped on the die cuts add a lovely element of texture and realism to the flower and foliage.

KC Impression Obsession Hydrangea Set 1 right

I stamped the flower image on white cardstock with  rose ink.  I ran a piece of white paper directly over the rose ink pad to create the same level of color as on the stamped image and cut out several sections of the cluster of individual hydrangea blossoms.  I formed the blossoms with my stylus and mat and layered them over the stamped background to add dimension.  Some blossom were attached with rolled up glue dots to add height and some were directly on the stamped layer with glossy accents. By attaching the blossoms in this manner created a more dimensional and realistic flower.

I stamped the stem and foliage on spring moss cardstock and cut them out with the matching dies. I attached the hydrangea and foliage to the stem with glossy accents and then attached over the frame opening with double layers of mounting tape. I added the friend tag and single bow for the finishing touch.
