Grand Oak Tree, Bike and Flowers

Good Sunday morning.  My project is simple in design but I love it. The grand oak tree is a wonderful die and I thought it would be perfectly paired with the bicycle.

I cut the tree using light green cardstock and colored the trunk and limbs with an antique linen distress marker. I left all the tips of the leaves green and applied lots and lots of tiny flowers made with my flower mound die.  I formed the flowers with my smallest stylus. I applied a few rolled glue dots on the back of the tree and used my ATG to apply adhesive to the tree trunk and attached to the card front.

I cut the bicycle in red and colored the seat, handles, wheels and petal with a black soot distress marker. I cut the basket using kraft cardstock, colored lightly with the antique linen marker and attached a few sprigs of foliage and flowers.  I attached the basket of flowers to the bike frame with glossy accents. I added two sections of fresh cut grass to the base of the card and tucked the wheels of the bike down in the grass.  I tucked in a few more sprigs of foliage around the ground area and finished with a few more tiny flowers.  I love how this turned out.

Blooming Posie Bouquet

Good Saturday afternoon.  I am a little late posting today.  I spent some time this morning looking at a private Facebook “family page” that my sister set up a few weeks ago.  Our mother came from a family of 11 children so we have tons of cousins. We are all scattered all over the united states and most of us have not seen each other since childhood. We are reconnecting and have been thrilled to see the children and grandchildren of our cousins joining in our group as well. There have been so many wonderful pictures of our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles shared on the site. One that especially touched me this morning was my mother and father in the mid 1940s standing in front of mother’s family home with their old greenhouses in the background. I had never seen this picture before. Weren’t they adorable.

My project today was made with my parents in my heart. Mother was a talented florist and would have loved this soft and delicate floral bouquet. I hope you don’t mind that I made my post a little longer than usual by sharing about my family.

I used the Bella Bouquet for the outline of the arrangement but covered the flowers with blossoms made using the Blooming Posie and mini daisy punch. I love the “wildflower” appearance of these flowers.

I cut two of the Fresh Foliage and formed them lightly with my stylus and mat. I attached one to the frame and then attached the floral bouquet over top of it. I attached the second one over top of the bouquet guarding that the leaves didn’t cover the flowers but filled in the bouquet. I added tiny flowers made using the flower mound die and formed with my stylus.  I like how the tiny flowers soften the bouquet. I left the stems showing and finished with a multi loop organdy bow. I was especially facinated with ribbon when I was a young girl and worked with mother in her flower shop. You can check out my multi loop bow tutorial if you would like to see a video of how I tied this bow.

Spring Window

Good Thursday morning!  I have another see thru window project today using the Poppystamps Grand Madison Window, Flower Box and Plush Curtains. I created the flowers in the box with the new Memory Box Blooming Violet.

I used the die cut window as a template to draw lines on the card base for the window opening. I cut the opening using my craft knife and attached the window over the opening with mounting tape.  I attached mounting tape to the inside opening over the window,  attached the drapes and then a second window. I wanted the inside to be finished as nicely as the outside.KC Poppy Stamps Grand MAdison Window 11 center

I attached the flower box under the window using mounting tape and tucked the flowers in behind the box and secured with glossy accents.  I thought a few butterflies would be a perfect finish. Sadly, I couldn’t get the colors to photograph properly and the colors of the flower, foliage and butterflies look much darker than they really are.  In person they are soft and sweet and go perfectly with the soft blue checked and polka dot papers.

Check my see thru window tutorial if you would like to step by step photos of how I make my open windows.

Blooming Posie

Good Wednesday morning.   I have a bright and cheerful flower and butterfly card to share with you today.

KC Poppy Stamps Blooming Posie 1 right

I punched the background panel using the Martha Stewart Flower Box PATP border punch to create and interesting border for the Trellis Border and Flower and attached to the card base with mounting tape.  I attached mounting tape on both ends of the trellis  and in the center where the flower head would cover it, attached it to the punched layer and covered the ends with thin scalloped pieces.KC Poppy stamps Blooming Posie 1 center

The stem and leaves were cut using the new Norrland Flower.  I had made the Blooming Posie over the weekend and hadn’t used it to placed it on the stem instead of the Norrland Flower.  I thought the lavender would be so bright and pretty against the white and marigold. I attached the flower to the trellis using glossy accents. I thought adding a few lavender butterflies would be the perfect finishing touch. KC Poppy Stamps Blooming Posie 1 left

I hope you are enjoying seeing all the new dies I have used over the last couple of weeks.  I am having so much fun. Credit and debit cards Beware!!!  LOL!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Blooming Violets

Good Tuesday morning.  I have a see thru window project to share with you today but the main focus is the Blooming Violets along the fence line.

KC Memory Box Blooming Violet 1 left

I started by cutting two windows and using one as a template to draw lines on the card base with a pencil and cutting an opening with my kraft knife. I attached the Lacy Curtains to the backside of one of the windows, added mounting tape and attached over the opening on the inside of the card base. I attached the outside window flat over the opening so it wouldn’t interfere with the popped up fence. Using my mega mount I created the inside background using the Impression Obsession Tiny Flowers Cover a Card stamp.

KC Memory Box Blooming Violet 1 center

I cut the violet using white cardstock and sponged with dusty concord distress ink. Using white with the purple ink allowed the tiny embossed veins in the flower to show.  I formed the flowers and foliage using my stylus and mat and assembled them using glossy accents.  I attached the Picket Fence under the window with mounting tape and attached the flowers with glossy accents. I created one extra set of flowers  and added the single flowerheads along with some green flower heads to fill for a more natural flower line.  KC Memory Box Blooming Violet 1 right

Check out my see thru window tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my open window.

Thanks for stopping by today.
