Woodland Meadow Twig Christmas Wreath

Good Thursday morning.  My project today is a fun Christmas wreath made using the Twig Wreath  and pine foliage with the tiny images from the Woodland Meadow set.  I thought it would be fun to make a wreath covered with the decorated Christmas tree, snowman and reindeer.

The tree garland was made with gold cord and the little ornaments are punched circles from the 1/16” hole punch.  The tiny stars on the tree tops and wreath are from the Cuttlebug Snowflake and Star die and are covered with yellow stickles..

The snowman arms were colored with a brown distress marker and the little coal buttons are also made with the 1/16” hole punch. I made the eyes with a black marker and cut a tiny piece orange for the carrot nose. The deer was sponged with brown distress ink and decorated with a tiny sprig of pine foliage and tiny red 1/16” ornaments.  There is also a tiny red ornament on the nose with touches of diamond stickles.  Too bad you can’t really see all of this fun detail.

Here’s a little closer view.

The white base was embossed and the corners cut with corner edger scissors and mounted on the red base with mounting tape for a little extra dimension and interest. I thought the wreath was so busy that it needed to be on a very plain background to show up well.  The embossing adds interest without distracting from the images.

Wouldn’t this be a perfect card for a little boy or girl!!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the tiny decorated images.  They were so much fun to make.  I will say that I could use a stronger pair of reading glasses.  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Sparkly Snowy Night

Good Wednesday morning.  I have a cute project to share with you today that I made for a challenge of at Splitcoaststampers to use black, white and a little pop of color.

KC Impression Obsession Tree Die 5 right

I cut the frame, ran it through my wave crimper and mounted it over the black sky card base with mounting tape.  I love how the design of the frame appears like snow drifts.  I applied glossy accents and glitter to the tree and tucked it in behind the frame.  I popped up the branches with glue dots so it would stand out against the sky.

I assembled the snowman, added tiny sprigs of pine and red berries to his hat and scarf and added touches of glitter to make him sparkle.  For another element of sparkle I punched out several tiny snowflakes, applied touches of glossy accents and dipped them in glitter. This little night scene is so much more sparkly in person than you can see in the photo.

Chickadee and Pine Christmas House and a Tutorial

Good Tuesday morning. I have a nature inspired project to share with you today as well as a step by step tutorial on how to use  coordinating stamped images and dies together.

KC Impression Obsession Bird Die 1 right

I started by cutting the bottom of the house to fit on the card base and mounting it with mounting tape.  I popped the roof section up on the house with mounting tape for added dimension.  I cut the bare branch and several pieces of pine and holly from the twig wreath set to create the pine branch. I formed the pine and holly lightly with my stylus and mat to give a more natural look.  I used glossy accents to attach the sprigs to the tips of the branches and used the tip of my paper piercer to secure them in place.

I rolled glue dots up into balls and placed in several strategic places and attached it to the house and card base.  I attached the birds with mounting tape and then tucked several pieces of holly around them to fill in and soften the design and added tiny red holly berries around on the branches. Here’s a closer look.

I added a tiny bow with several tiny pine sprigs and holly berries to the top of the roof for the finishing touch.

I don’t know about you but I have always had difficulty figuring out how to cut out a stamped image with the coordinating die and getting the lines to match up.  Here are a few photos to show how I cut my stamped birds.

2

1. Cut out the birds to create a template. The dies also cut holes to be used to line up over the image.

1

2. Stamp the birds.

3

3. Lay the template over the bird image, line it up perfectly and trace the circles with a pencil.

4

4, Place the die over the image and line up the holes over your traced circles..

5

5.  Tape the die in place with repositionable tape and cut out the birds.   Hint….I use painter’s tape from the hardware store.

6

6.  Use a black marker to color around any white edge that may show after the cut.  7

7.  Color you image.

Seeing pictures are always more helpful for me to learn as I am so visual. I hope this short tutorial helps and gives you more confidence to try coordinating dies and images.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Sparkly Poinsettia, Pine and Holly Window Garland

Good Monday morning.  I have another see thru window to share with you today.  I love the Poppystamps window dies, especially the arched windows in both the grand and small size.  The are so elegant and beautiful decorated with flowers and foliage.

KC Poppy Stamps Grand Madison Arched Window 3 left
I cut two window dies, one for the outside of the card and one to finish the inside. I placed one of the dies on the card front, traced the inside of the window to create template for cutting and cut the opening using my craft knife. I attached the front window using mounting tape to give a little dimension,  I attached the inside window flat to the opening to cover the hand cut opening for a perfectly clean and neat finish.

I cut several Fancy Blossoms, formed with my stylus and mat and assembled them with glossy accents. I attached several of the holly vines to the window to create a flowing garland effect. I attached the three large flowers in place with glossy accents and then tucked pine and larger holly pieces around them to soften the design. I added a few single blooms to the garland to create a natural growing appearance.

I finished by adding glossy accents to the flowers and foliage and sprinkling glitter on to create a gorgeous holiday sparkle. Here a closer view.

Mr. Snowman and Tree

Good Sunday morning!  Do you love snowmen Christmas cards as much as I do?  I never tire of making them and always feel a little sad when the holiday is past and I have to put them away until the next season.  I live in Florida so we don’t have lots of need for warm winter wishes type cards after the New Year.  LOL!

Lifestyle Crafts has two precious snowmen dies out right now and they both so fun to play with. I especially love the size of the one I used on this project.

KC Lifestyle Snowman 2 center
I used coordinating paper from the Christmas Cheer Tiny Tablet.  I love the bright blues, greens and the darker red against the cream background.  The polka dotted paper seemed so whimsical to use for my little tree line off in the distance behind Mr. Snowman.

KC Lifestyle Snowman 2 left

I liked using the darker red for both the hat and scarf so they wouldn’t compete against the patterned papers.  I cut a few pieces of tiny holly off of a holly vine to decorate his hat and scarf and added a few tiny flowers made from a 1/8” hole punch.  I applied a  glossy accent along the hat and scarf borders and on the holly and flowers and then sprinkled lightly with glitter for a bit of sparkle. Here’s a little closer view.

I cut three pieces of cardstock and crimped with my wave crimper to create a snowy hill background effect. I layered the top piece over the crimped tree line and then attached the others pieces.  I tucked the snowman and the fancy tree in behind the bottom drift and attached with mounting tape. I just love the happy little scene.KC LIfestyle Snowman 2 right
