I have a couple projects to share with you today.  For the first one I used a new background image called Freehand Floral Panel and a new floral called Forget Me Not.

KC Freehand Flower Panel

I stamped the floral  image on watercolor paper twice with versafine black ink, embossed with black embossing powder and colored with a brush and reinkers.  I cut one set of the images out to pop up over the main image layer. I stamped the background image on the blue cardstock, embossed and cut the oval frame with Nestabilities.  The little butterflies are from the Butterfly Inchies set.

My second project was made using the Vine Heart image

KC Vine Heart

I made this card fir the Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS andthe challenge was to cut and layer by following the line of the image.  I stamped the image on white cardstock and painted with a brush and reinkers.  I punched out several 3/8” pink circles and created little flowerets to pop up over some of the flowers.

I hope you are enjoying our blog hop.

My project today is made with a new floral image called Rose Silhouette.

KC Rose Silhouette

I applied ink to the image using markers, misted a little with water and stamped on watercolor paper.  I used a brush to add more color and then brushed on a little bit of plain water to run the color in between the rose blossoms. I used one of the butterflies from the Butterflies Are Free set and a smaller one that matches from the Butterfly Inchies set.  The frame was stamped with the silhouette image in green.

Stampavie Fleur Gathering Flowers

I also have a sweet card to share with you today.  I love the Sarah Kay images and Fleur Gathering Flowers is one of the sweetest yet. All of the Sarah Kay images are fun to color and I love to cut them out and pop them up for dimension.   Check out the little doggie with his tail out of  the frame. Fleur’s garden was full of pink flowers so the pink double matted frame with white background surrounding her  added color while letting her pop to life. The little flower garlands seemed to be just the perfect finishing touch.

I am sharing a project today made with a new frame image called Morning Glory and I have paired  it with Bud Tree set.

KC Bud Tree

I stamped the frame image and butterflies with green ink on pink cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used a Nestabilities die to cut the oval frame.  I stamped the bud image on white cardstock and attached tiny punched paper flowers.  I cut the butterflies out to pop up on the card front.  I love how the pink flowers pop off the white background.

Sunshine, Sand and Water

Rubbernecker Special Shopper’s Reward This Weekend

The weekend is finally here!  I have had a busy work week and have looked forward to a restful and relaxing couple of days to recuperate.  How about you?  The weather here in Florida has been a delight with bright sunny days, low humidity and perfect temperatures. I wish it could last but the heat and humidity will be here soon and will last way into late fall.

The Friday Free For All Challenge on Splitcoaststampers was to create a project with a sunshine theme.  I was inspired to create a sunny beach scene.  Although Florida has gorgeous beaches my scene looks more like the sand dunes at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The storms, high wind and rough surf constantly pick away at the beaches and dunes causing erosion. Sand retaining fences are placed all along the shore line and sea oats are planted as a means to protect against erosion.

I had lots of fun trying to recreate my fond memories of the shore line of our family’s beloved Cape Hatteras, NC.

KC BEach MAster 4

I sponged in the sand area, masked off the water line and then sponged in the water. I punched a circle out to mask off the sky area and sponged in yellow to create the sun and then removed and sponged in blue and yellow for the sky area. I used the smallest sand image in my Kittie Kits Beach Master to stamp in texture and then stamped several sea oats around the scene. I finished off by stamping the fences. I lightly sponged in dirt areas around each clump of sea oats. I cut the frame with a Nestabilities die to mount up over the scene. The solid blue frame  looked so stark against the scene  so I repeated the sponging, stamping, etc. to carry the scene of the sand dune and fence line out onto the frame.

I hope you have a great weekend.  Don’t forget to check out the Special Shopper’s Reward event at Rubbernecker.
