Winter Loads of Love

I pulled out one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! sets tonight to play in the Splitcoaststampers Way to Use It Challenge to use twine.  I fell in love with the little truck in the Loads of Love set the first year it was released and have loved it ever since.  It seems that the truck painted red with a crisp white snowy background and evergreens makes for the most wonderful holiday card.  I don’t think I will ever tire of using this set and it will never leave my stamp collection.

KC Loads of Love 44

I created the three tree covered mountain background layers with a tree border punch by EK Success. I used stark white cardstock and used a stylus and sponge tip to add the green color to the trees.  I created the little road by sponging gray across the base of the card. and adding texture with a stamp from Itty Bitty Background.  I stamped the truck on watercolor paper, painted with reinkers and cut out to pop up over the road. I used a Martha Stewart evergreen sprig punch for the greenery in the back of the truck and added a twine bow to hold the sprig in place. The ribbon is a new size of taffeta from Stampin’ Up!

I had to laugh as I loaded my edited photo of this project into my files.  This was Loads of Love number 44 and I’m sure there will be many, many more.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
