More Dare to Get Dirty Projects.

The week is winding down for the Dare to Get Dirty week of challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. You have to check out all the different challenge galleries to see what all the members came up with.

I had lots of fun making projects for my fellow DD friends, Amber and Anna to use as inspiration in their challenge posts.  The first sample project is for Amber’s Challenge.

Cat and Dog

Hi everyone!  I haven’t posted in a few days as I have been preparing to host a challenge for the Splitcoaststampers week long Dare to Get Dirty challenge event and making sample projects . If you have played in these challenges in the past you know what fun it is. If you haven’t you should come check it out

I love cats and dog images and use them on my cards often. For my first project I used the Stampavie Helz Cuppelditch Coco Cat Flowers. I love the look on the cats face.

KC Helz Cocoa Cat Flowers

I only wanted to use the cat from the Coco Cat Flowers so I masked off the floral bouquet and bees when I inked the stamp.  I don’t often do clean and simple card designs but I wanted the cat to be the main focus of my project so I used plain kraft cardstock for the background and simple brown for layering.  I love the simplicity of the paw prints going across the card and right around the cat image  and the brown gingham bow and  fish bone tag was the perfect simple embellishment.

My second project was made with images from the Rubbernecker Dog Collection.  I love using red, black and white and the Dalmatian certainly works well with this combination. I think the fun bone, paw, hydrant background stamp is so cute and the sentiment is perfect.KC Dog 3

I hope you have a wonderful and that you have a chance to get your fingers inky.

100th Color Throwdown

Hi Everyone!  I had fun tonight putting together a project for the 100th Color Throwdown.  You need to check this out as there are tons of prizes.  Our own Rubbernecker Dave is contributing five $50 gift certificates.  Go check out the Color Throwdown blog for details.

As springy and summery as this color combination is I found some fun paper in my Holiday Slab that matched the throwdown colors perfectly.  The paper screamed winter to me so I pulled out my Rubbernecker North Pole collection and found this darling little fallen skater to play with.

I hope you check out the Throwdown and participate to win some of those fabulous prizes.

Auction Winner and a Cute Summer Purse

I am very excited to announce that Nancy Polansky is the winner of my Stampavie card auction to raise money for Michelle Oatman.  I want to thank Nancy and the rest of you who placed bids for this special project.  I appreciate it more than you know.  Check out “Kickin’ It” for Michelle to read about how you can get this darling Tina Wenke baby donkey image for a small donation.

I had fun this weekend making this sweet little summery polka dot and eyelet purse.  Making template projects always take me so long as I seem to be a little challenged but this was well worth the effort.  I will fill it with treats to give to a friend.
