Layers and Layers With KK Originals Moose

If you have more than one moose do you still call them moose? The Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS today is to do Paper Tole.  We usually think of using flowers with paper tole but our challenge today was to layer images that were not flowers.  What fun. The moose and tree images in my project are from KK Originals, a wonderful line of stamps that can be found starting tomorrow at Rubbernecker Stamp Co.!!!

Look for other KK Originals samples on the Rubbernecker Team blogs:

Sherry, Broni, Candy, Shelly, Tosha, Linda, Leslie and Jeanne

I created a mask for the trees and moose so I could stamp over them as many times as I wanted to create the scene. I stamped all the images with Brilliance Black on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers.  I stamped and cut additional images to layer and colored.  I created the sky by using a dauber and cloud template. I started layering all my images with dimensionals and glue dots. One of the moose heads  and tree is three levels and all other layers are two.  I don't think the extra layer shows in the photo. I love the moose sticking his head out of the trees.

I love the scenery images in the KK Originals line.  I am going to have a fun time with all the flowers, sprigs of grass, etc.  I chose to use a little watering can and flower and grass sprig to create my scene for todays challenge.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper with Brilliance Black and then I sketched in some trees of my own, sponged in ground colors of green and brown to create a garden scene and placed the can right in the middle of the scene where it was left by the gardener. I have never used the Cut & Dry nibs before today but tried one out to add dirt texture to the garden ground area.  I love the effect.  I usually don't use Copic markers on watercolor paper but I did today and colored the flowers and sprigs as well as the can with them. I used a large round dry watercolor brush to add the green grass area around the flower heads and then sponged in the rest of the green area with a large dauber.  I sketched in the trees with a Copic Multiliner and watercolored, and filled in the leaf and grass area with a small dauber and the fern stamp.  I added little flower along the tree line by just using the tip of the Copic markers and then sketched in little sprigs and stems with the liner and colored with the Copic.  I loved the Create sentiment for this scene and wanted to make the little tag hang from one of the punched corners with twill.  My friend, Jeanne S gave me this punch and I love it for big scenes like this.  I added a couple of flower sprigs to the sentiment tag as well as daubing a little green along the bottom of the word to make it appear to be growing in the garden as well.  This was a fun card to create.

I cut a white and orange circle for layering on the card flap. I used Rubbernecker Beach Party sail boat and wave images.  I stamped the waves with aqua and masked off and stamped the boat with Stazon.  I filled in the little waves by painting lightly with a brush and aqua reinker and painted the boat with aqua and orange. I sponged in the sky using a small dauber and a cloud template cut with scalloped decorative scissors. I used a Inkssentials white opaque pen to add the dots on the orange layer.  I used an orange star eyelet on the circle for embellishment and attached the ribbon under the flap with glue dots.  What a fun little project.
